By now, if you are here, you know the scandal swirling around Atlanta Falcons Quarterback Michael Vick. He is facing criminal charges for dog fighting.
But what is to become of the dogs that he victimized, trained to fight (which is a horrendous process in itself, which we won’t detail here), and which are now in the government’s custody?
They are scheduled to be euthanized, based on the erroneous assumption that they cannot be rehabilitated!
“Rehabilitating fighting dogs is not in the cards. It’s widely accepted that euthanasia is the most humane thing for them,” said a PETA spokesperson - an organization not really known for their contact with reality.
Now a dedicated group of pit bull advocates is begging for their life - they feel - and we agree - that Vicks himself should be made to pay for the care - and where possible rehabilitation - of these dogs - his number one victims - for the rest of his life.
If you agree, please sign the petition at this link:
Let’s make Vick take responsibility for his actions. These dogs have commited NO crimes, why should they pay for Vick’s crimes with their lives. The only way Vick can redemn himself is to take financial responsibility for these dogs for the rest of their lives. These dogs are INNOCENT victims and it’s BS that they can’t be rehabed. With proper training and placed in the right homes, many of these animals will make wonderful companions!! PETA and the “Humane” Society should be ashamed of themselves. Weren’t these groups set up to PROTECT innocent animals in need of help. How much more in need does it get than this group of abused, tortured souls?!?!
Let’s not compound this horrific crime by MURDERING the innocent victims.
Vick is the one that should be punished not the dogs. They have lived a horrible life. Lets give them some happiness and a future. Thanks Di and Chuck
Don’t let the poor dogs be killed. Let them live. It’s the man’s fault not the dogs. Let the dogs live and let them have new loving owners.
wow.
i looooove pitbulls.
i’s not their fault.
it’s our’s for making some of them fight.
one of god’s biggest mistakes is that he
made some people so smart and caring and other so
blind and carless to think of others-human and animals ad the envoriment.
I stand up for pitbulls!
